Animal experiments have shown that the electroretinogram of cats lacking taurine shows extensive degeneration of rod cells and cone cells.

Protecting myocardium

Taurine has the effect of enhancing cardiac contractility. It can counteract the arrhythmia caused by foxglove,

which may be related to the effect of taurine on membrane permeability and ion flux, and maintaining intracellular calcium ion concentration.

Taurine also has the effect of improving myocardial tolerance to hypoxia.

Anti-oxidize effect

Taurine has the ability to protect many cells, especially blood cells, from oxidative and free radical damage.

Promote immune function
Taurine has the function of increasing cellular immune phagocytosis and promoting the production of immunoglobulin.
